Introduction to Trekking in Langtang Region
Trekking in the Langtang Region is an opportunity to experience something different than trekking in Nepal’s famous Everest region. Langtang is a region of the Himalayas located 51 km north of Kathmandu Valley.
Established in 1971, this area is the first Himalayan National Park in Nepal. The area covers an area of 1,710 square kilometres. This region is famous for trekking in Nepal. Langtang Region is one of the most visited tourist regions after the Everest and Annapurna regions.

The park has about 25% of the forest, including oak and maple, evergreen pine, and various rhododendron trees. Wild animals like Himalayan black bears, Himalayan tahar, Assam macaques, and red pandas are also included in this forest.
The park includes the sacred Gosaikunda Lake for Hindus which is also a famous destination for tourists. Gosainkunda Lake, another spiritual site, is the Buddhist monastery of Kanjin Gompa.
Among the various activities for tourists in the park, popular activities are trekking, climbing, and white-water rafting. To the south of this area are the Gosaikunda and Helambu areas. Here, you can trek from 7 days to 21 days. The best times for trekking in this area are spring and autumn. Most trekking routes in Helambu and Langtang are well served by teahouses.

Driving from Kathmandu takes about 40 minutes to reach Sundarijal or 6–7 hours to drive to Dhunche or Sabru Benshi, where we can start trekking. Trekking for Tamang heritage and Ganesh Himal trekking starts from Sabru Benshi. Landscaping by driving between Kathmandu and Sabru Benshi offers a natural paradise.
It’s easy to get to all the Langtang trekking destinations without a flight. Trekkers in Langtang can do a tea house, lodge, camp, or tended trek as per their wish and frame holiday.
Season and Accommodation
The autumn and spring seasons are the best times for trekking in the Langtang Region, but we arrange throughout the year in the interest of trekkers. The earthquake in April 2015 affected the area, but after reconstruction and maintenance efforts, the area has opened for trekking, and local people are also ready to welcome tourists.
The road between Nepal and Tibet (China) has already been constructed, and the border is Timor. Opening this border makes it easier for locals to live. There are various trekking options in the Langtang region, and you can choose one of the best treks that suit you.
