Introduction to Champadevi Hiking
Champadevi Hiking is a famous day hiking around the Kathmandu Valley. With a height of 2,278 meters, this hill is the third highest hill in the Kathmandu Valley. From Champadevi, beautiful views of Kathmandu Valley including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts can be observed. Champadevi Hill is also a great destination to see Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Jugal, Dorge Lakpa, etc.
If you have only 1 day and want to see the entire Kathmandu Valley and the beautiful mountains around it in a short time, Champadevi can be the best destination. During the Champadevi hiking, you can also see the historical places of Nepal like the Bagmati river, Bugmati, Khokan, Pharping, etc. To the right of Champadevi is Phulchoki hill and to the left is Chandragiri hill (the highest hill around Kathmandu valley). The starting point of Champadevi hiking is Bhanjyang. you can reach in Bhanjyang in 45 minutes by car/van or bus from Thamel. About half an hour’s walk from the starting point you reach a resort known as Hatiban Resort. But to reach the top of Champadevi hill you have to walk about 3 hours. You can see the temple of Chanpadevi and the Buddhist monastery on Champadevi hill. Champadevi hill is a sacred pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists.

Trip Itinerary
Hike to Champadevi Hill from Kathmandu: 5-6 hours
7:00 – You will be ready for hiking and will leave the hotel for the hiking starting point at around 7.15. After one hour drive, you reach bhanjyang from where your hiking starts.
8:30 – Take a tea break, fill a water bottle, and shop at the last minute for hiking if you need anything.
9:00 – Start your hiking to Champadevi hill. About half an hour Resort. From there you have to walk another 3 hours to reach the top of Champadevi hill
13.00 – At the top of Champadevi Hill you can see the Chanpadevi temple and the Buddhist monastery. Champadevi hill is a holy place of pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists. From Champadevi, beautiful views of Kathmandu Valley including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts can be observed. Champadevi Hill is also a great destination to see Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Jugal, Dorge Lakpa, etc. Take an hour’s break for lunch (Note: You can find local organic food in the hotels and restaurants here).
14.00 – You will start walking down the same route to return to Hattiban Resort.
17.00 – You will find the vehicle at Hattiban Resort and the vehicle will drop you off at your hotel.

What is altitude sickness?
Altitude sickness is normally known as acute mountain sickness. This can happen when people rapidly climb up to an altitude of more than 3000 meters. We ensure minimal risk by adding rest to our trekking itineraries. Most people will feel some effects of altitude, some shortness of breath and possibly light headache, this is normal enough. Acute mountain sickness patients are quite different and usually have a serious headache, sickness, and lose awareness. In almost all possible cases there are sufficient warning signs to take action properly. Descending to a lower altitude is usually enough to prevent any further problems.
Do I need a visa to enter Nepal and how can I get if I need it?
Yes, you need Visa for travelling to Nepal and this can be obtained before departing from your country or at the Kathmandu Airport. How big are the groups?
In order to operate group joining fixed departure trips we need minimum of two persons but for private trips, no minimum and maximum apply. You can travel with us, whether you are alone or with a large group. But remember that according to the rules of the government, trekking to a restricted area requires minimum of 2 persons.
Is there anyone to meet us at the airport upon arrival?
Yes, a representative from our office will be at the airport with a banner of your name. You will then be transferred to your hotel by our representative. After that you will be invited to our office or we can visit your hotel where you will meet with your guide and trip briefing will be done.
